Senior Project Associate – Livelihoods

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Senior Project Associate to support livelihoods activities, including Graduation Approach interventions, in Iraq. The position is based in Kirkuk and involves travel across the country to monitor and coordinate program implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Support team leaders and case managers in tracking implementation of livelihoods activities and ensuring timely delivery.
• Travel to project sites to monitor beneficiaries, document observations, and provide routine feedback.
• Conduct quality checks, verification, and community engagement activities in line with established procedures.
• Compile and submit regular progress updates using tracking tools and reporting templates.
• Deliver orientation and refresher sessions on livelihoods tools and processes for operational teams.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders such as government entities, NGOs, and private‑sector partners to facilitate implementation.
• Draft routine reports, briefs, and activity overviews for internal and external sharing.
• Review uploaded business plans and verification documents for completeness and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Psychology or related field with at least four years relevant experience, or high‑school diploma with six years experience.
• Experience supporting implementation, coordination, and monitoring of livelihoods, recovery, resilience or community stabilization activities.
• Field‑level operational follow‑up experience across multiple locations.
• Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs or donor‑funded programmes is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of data management, reporting tools and information tracking systems.
