Senior Project Associate (Livelihoods) – Anbar

About the role

The Senior Project Associate will support IOM’s livelihoods portfolio in Anbar, Iraq, providing technical guidance to field teams and coordinating with partners to deliver livelihood assistance across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on livelihoods assessments, labor market mapping and supply‑chain analysis.
• Support identification and selection of beneficiaries, ensuring compliance with IOM guidelines.
• Assist in building partnerships with local authorities, private sector actors and community organisations.
• Facilitate orientation meetings, trainings, business development support, mentoring and other technical assistance for beneficiaries.
• Travel to project sites to monitor activities, quality‑check data and service delivery, and recommend improvements.
• Conduct satisfaction surveys and provide feedback to improve future interventions.
• Develop and maintain internal control and compliance processes for livelihoods programming.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Livelihoods or related field (or diploma with relevant experience).
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in government engagement, public‑sector coordination or development programmes, preferably with an international organization.
• Experience working in Iraq or similar contexts and familiarity with government systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of livelihoods, recovery and community‑based programming approaches.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Understanding of data management, reporting tools and information‑tracking systems.
