Senior Pricing Specialist – Grocery Sector

About the role

The Pricing Senior Specialist will own and execute Baly Groceries' pricing strategy, ensuring competitiveness while protecting margins and supporting growth. You will collaborate closely with Category, Finance, Growth, and Product teams to continuously optimize prices based on market dynamics, costs, and customer behavior.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain selling prices across all grocery categories and SKUs.
• Conduct regular competitor price benchmarking and identify pricing gaps and opportunities.
• Monitor gross margin, price index, and SKU/category profitability; recommend corrective actions.
• Develop pricing recommendations based on product cost, target margins, competition, and price sensitivity.
• Work with Category Managers on supplier cost changes, margins, and retail price adjustments.
• Define and maintain pricing rules, guardrails, and approval processes.
• Support promotional pricing, discounts, flash sales, and campaigns, ensuring commercial viability.
• Identify Key Value Items (KVIs) and keep Baly competitive on high‑impact products.
• Analyze pricing performance and provide regular reports on competitiveness, margin impact, and opportunities.
• Support pricing automation and ERP‑related requirements; maintain pricing accuracy across the customer app.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in Pricing, Commercial, Category Management, Revenue Management, or Commercial Analytics, preferably in grocery, FMCG, retail, e‑commerce, or Q‑commerce.
• Strong analytical mindset with a solid understanding of margin, markup, cost structures, promotions, and retail pricing.
• Comfortable working with large SKU‑level datasets and fast‑paced environments.
• Good knowledge of the Iraqi grocery/FMCG market and competitive landscape is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets capabilities.
• SQL proficiency.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
