Senior Electrical Designer (Onsite)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join KBR’s project team in Basra, Iraq. The role involves delivering detailed electrical and instrumentation designs for the Majnoon project, working closely with design and engineering leads to meet schedule and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate electrical design deliverables including power, sub‑station, grounding, cable tray, lighting, and installation drawings.
• Develop single‑line diagrams, cable block diagrams, loop drawings, termination and hook‑up drawings, and control system architecture diagrams.
• Produce 2D drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation and ensure integration with other disciplines.
• Verify that designs comply with IEC, BSI, IEEE/ANSI, NFPA and other applicable codes and standards.
• Support material procurement activities such as vendor drawing reviews and bulk material estimation.
• Maintain quality documentation in line with KBR’s procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5‑8 years of electrical design experience in EPC or consultancy environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• AutoCAD or MicroStation for 2D drafting.
• Strong knowledge of international electrical codes (IEC, BSI, IEEE/ANSI, NFPA).
• Experience producing single‑line diagrams, cable schedules, and instrumentation drawings.
