Senior Associate Risk Management (Iraq)

About the role

The Senior Associate will support the Risk Management function of Bank al Etihad in Iraq, preparing key risk reports and monitoring operational risk exposures. The role involves close collaboration with business units, the Central Bank of Iraq, and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare operational, market, and regulatory risk reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly) for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze daily operational incidents from branches and departments and investigate root causes.
• Support development and updating of risk policies and ensure alignment of bank procedures with risk controls.
• Implement self‑assessment programs to evaluate operational risks across all departments and branches.
• Monitor foreign currency positions, Nostro accounts, and investment policy limits in line with Central Bank requirements.
• Assist in Asset‑Liability Management reporting and Treasury breach mitigation under CBI and Basel frameworks.
• Conduct periodic reporting on stress testing, capital adequacy, ICAAP, Basel III, IFRS 9 ECL calculations, and credit portfolio exposures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Relevant risk‑management certifications.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in risk management.
