Security Assistance Mentor and Cultural Advisor (MoPA)

About the role

Versar Global Solutions seeks a Security Assistance Mentor and Cultural Advisor (MoPA) to support the United States Military Group – Iraq (USMILGP‑Iraq) mission. The incumbent will work directly with senior officials of the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs (MoPA) and USMILGP‑Iraq to strengthen ministerial engagement, decision‑making, and information sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior MoPA officials and assist USMILGP‑Iraq in ministerial‑level duties.
• Develop and implement engagement strategies that enhance the functional development of the Ministry.
• Provide daily observation, written reporting, and support timely decision‑making processes.
• Build and maintain trusted professional and cultural relationships with MoPA leadership and other Iraqi Kurdish agencies.
• Assist in policy development, integration of military and civilian elements, and oversight of operational planning.
• Manage schedules, suspenses, and strategic plans to ensure a consistent daily operating rhythm.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of MoPA structures, civil‑military relations, and Kurdish cultural dynamics.
• Proficiency in the Kurdish language.
• Demonstrated ability to establish confidential, trust‑based relationships with senior Iraqi Kurdish counterparts.
• Experience advising senior government or military officials in a complex, multi‑national environment.
