Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Balad, Iraq)

About the role

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will deliver direct and indirect clinical care to patients in a fast‑paced ER environment in Balad, Iraq. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while advocating for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Assist medical providers with procedures and treatments within the licensed scope of practice.
• Assess and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical history and prescribed medications.
• Establish observable patient goals and develop appropriate care plans.
• Report any changes in patient condition promptly to the medical provider.
• Administer basic care independently, including catheter insertion, blood specimen collection, urine collection, electrocardiogram (EKG), visual acuity testing, basic wound care, bandage changes and medication administration.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Provide education to support patients in making informed health decisions.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse license with authority to practice in the assigned location.
• Ability to work autonomously in an emergency setting and collaborate effectively with the care team.
• Strong patient‑centered focus and advocacy skills.
• Proficiency in clinical assessment, documentation and reporting.
