Radiology Technician – Locum Rotation (Iraq)

About the role

International SOS is seeking a Radiology Technician for a locum rotation in Iraq. The role involves operating specialized X‑ray equipment to produce diagnostic images for physicians. The assignment consists of 30 active days followed by 120 inactive days.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients and position them correctly for radiological procedures.
• Operate X‑ray equipment, set exposure factors, and capture high‑quality images.
• Document patient care and imaging findings in departmental records.
• Apply radiation protection techniques, including beam restriction and patient shielding.
• Adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Follow infection‑control policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Participate in mass‑casualty exercises and related emergency response activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Experience operating specialized X‑ray equipment.
• Ability to position patients and use immobilisation devices.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and exposure factor selection.
• Commitment to infection‑control standards.
• Willingness to engage in mass‑casualty training and exercises.
