PYP Coordinator – Baghdad

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator to lead the delivery, development and quality assurance of the PYP at a growing international school in Baghdad. The role works closely with the School Leadership Team and teaching staff to ensure alignment with IB expectations and best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation, development and continuous improvement of the IB PYP.
• Support teachers with collaborative planning, unit design, assessment and inquiry‑based learning.
• Ensure curriculum documentation and classroom practice remain aligned with IB standards.
• Coach teachers and deliver internal professional development.
• Work with senior leaders to prepare for IB reviews, authorisation or evaluation processes.
• Promote a strong PYP culture across staff, students and parents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Primary Education, Early Years Education or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as an IB PYP Coordinator.
• At least 5 years' teaching experience within the IB Primary Years Programme.
• Relevant IB PYP professional development (workshops or coordinator‑focused training).
• Strong knowledge of the IB PYP framework, inquiry‑based learning and assessment.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
