PSD Team Leader – Iraq

About the role

The Personal Security Detail (PSD) Team Leader will oversee security operations for a major international oil & gas project in Kirkuk, Iraq. The role requires leading a team in a high‑threat environment, ensuring the safe movement of personnel and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise armoured vehicle movements.
• Manage day‑to‑day PSD operations and protect project personnel.
• Lead, train and mentor security team members.
• Maintain liaison with local authorities and client security representatives.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security and medical qualifications.

Required profile

• Background in military, police or government security.
• Minimum 5 years of oil & gas security experience.
• At least 3 years as a PSD Team Leader in Iraq or a comparable high‑threat setting.
• Recognised close‑protection qualification, valid FPOS and FREC medical certificates.
• Fluent English (written and spoken), valid passport and driving licence.
• Clean criminal record and ability to pass background screening.
• Eligibility limited to Eastern European and South African nationals.
