Protection Officer – Humanitarian Child Protection

About the role
World Vision is seeking a Protection Officer to support vulnerable children in Iraq. The role focuses on coordinating protection activities, supervising field staff, and ensuring that child protection interventions are delivered effectively and safely.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate protection activities across departments and liaise with technical advisers.
- Work closely with the MEAL team and support case planning, conferences, and closures.
- Recruit and supervise casual field staff in line with P&C policies.
- Represent World Vision at inter‑agency protection working groups and coordination meetings.
- Develop and monitor weekly/monthly activity and procurement plans.
- Prepare procurement and administrative documents for program implementation.
- Deliver trainings to community mobilisers, casual staff, and project participants on protection and education topics.
- Facilitate community feedback mechanisms and strengthen child/youth participation.
- Assist the Project Coordinator/Manager with budget management and GESI mainstreaming.
Required profile
- Experience in child protection or humanitarian protection programmes.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience supervising field staff and managing recruitment processes.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures and budget monitoring.
- Strong communication skills and ability to conduct trainings.
