Ministry of Defense Senior Leader Advisor

About the role

SOSi is seeking an experienced Ministry of Defense Senior Leader Advisor to provide advanced support and serve as a senior advisor to Iraqi Ministry leadership, supporting USMILGP‑Iraq ministerial‑level objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain personnel accountability, submit daily PERSTAT reports, and track SAMA personnel travel and TDY status.
• Prepare monthly summaries of personnel movements and advise senior officials on ministerial engagement strategies.
• Facilitate decision‑making, information‑sharing, and build professional relationships with senior ministry officials and coalition leadership.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and battle rhythms to improve institutional effectiveness and resource optimization.
• Provide daily observations, written reports, status assessments, and executive‑level briefings.

Required profile

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Fluent in Arabic and full professional fluency in English.
• Thorough understanding of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense structure and prior strategic‑level experience in Iraq since 2011.
• Strong knowledge of civil‑military relations, democratic governance, and defense institution building.
