Project Officer – Migration Governance (Kurdistan Region)

About the role

The Project Officer will support the SI‑COM II project in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, helping to strengthen migration governance, border management and the development of Migrant Resource Centres. Reporting to the Project Manager, the officer will assist in coordinating activities, monitoring progress and ensuring that human‑rights, gender‑equality and inclusion principles are embedded throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and coordination of border‑management, migration‑governance and Migrant Resource Centre activities.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with government bodies, NGOs and local authorities.
• Assist in monitoring, data collection and reporting on project outcomes.
• Integrate human‑rights, gender‑sensitive and inclusive approaches into all project components.
• Contribute to capacity‑building initiatives for institutional partners.

Required profile

• Experience in migration management, border governance or institutional capacity development.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement and coordination skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply human‑rights‑based, gender‑sensitive and inclusive approaches (asset).
• Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish; additional Iraqi languages or dialects are a plus.
