Project Assistant – National Position

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the implementation, coordination and quality assurance of the “InGrowth (Inclusive Work and Growth)” project in Iraq. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role ensures coherent delivery across the three target governorates, facilitates communication between field teams and project planning, and conducts regular field missions to monitor progress.

Key responsibilities

• Support overall coordination of project components, ensuring consistency across activities and governorates.
• Maintain an integrated overview of implementation progress and key deliverables.
• Liaise with Field Coordinators to assist with field‑level planning, logistical preparation and execution of activities.
• Organise and follow up on internal coordination meetings and action points.
• Undertake field missions to target governorates for implementation support, monitoring and quality assurance.
• Contribute to monitoring activities, documentation of results and collection of supporting evidence.
• Provide cross‑cutting operational and administrative support across all project components.
• Support communication and coordination with key stakeholders such as MOLSA, chambers of commerce, TVET centres, private‑sector actors, local authorities and CSOs.
• Assist in organising coordination meetings and stakeholder workshops.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project coordination or implementation support, preferably in development or NGO settings.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Baghdad, Abu Ghraib, Shu’ala, Diwaniyah and Nassiriyah.
• Strong communication skills in Arabic and the ability to work with diverse local authorities and partners.
• Organisational aptitude to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and documentation requirements.
