Project Assistant – Education (UNESCO Iraq)

About the role

The UNESCO Iraq Office is seeking a Project Assistant to support the Phase 3 TVET reform project “Green and Digital TVET for Enhancing Employability in Iraq”. The role will assist the Chief of Education and the Education Director in coordinating project activities, documentation, and stakeholder communications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of program files, correspondence, and documentation.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for the Chief of Education in line with UNESCO travel policies.
• Assist in preparing and disseminating program documents, including reports, work plans, and budgets.
• Support monitoring and evaluation activities, including data collection and drafting reports.
• Coordinate with national and regional stakeholders to ensure timely information exchange and program alignment.
• Track program expenses and support financial monitoring to ensure adherence to allocated budgets.
• Assist in procurement processes, preparing payments, RFQs, and purchase orders.
• Provide administrative support for communications with Ministries of Education and Higher Education, the EU, UNESCO Head Office, and other relevant bodies.

Required profile

• Eligible to work in Iraq.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Director of UNESCO Iraq Office and the Chief of Education.
• Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
