Programme Director

About the role

World Vision Iraq is seeking a Programme Director to lead and manage its programmes and operations across the Kurdistan Region and the rest of Iraq. The role will ensure strategic alignment between resource acquisition, programme quality and field operations, driving sustainable impact for the most vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to country strategy and business planning.
• Identify and develop programme opportunities, secure funding and build partnerships with local, national and international stakeholders.
• Oversee resource development and acquisition strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
• Coordinate closely with field, grant, sector and evaluation teams to guarantee high‑quality programme implementation.
• Lead the design and implementation of nexus programming that integrates humanitarian, development and peacebuilding efforts.
• Maintain strong relationships with donors, institutional partners and the wider World Vision network.
• Ensure compliance with World Vision International priorities while adapting approaches to the Iraqi context.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in leading large‑scale humanitarian or development programmes.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of resource mobilisation, donor engagement and proposal development.
• Demonstrated commitment to child‑focused, faith‑based development work.
