Planning Engineer - Flowlines (Onsite)

About the role

KBR is hiring a Site Planning Engineer for its ROO_EPCML project in Basra, Iraq. The role develops and manages site planning activities so that the project is completed on time and within budget, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams during the FEED and design phases of onshore and brownfield projects. It is an onsite position open to local nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and procurement teams to align project requirements with scope.
• Perform risk analysis and propose corrective actions, and monitor progress and report to senior management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate site assessments, prepare reports and contribute to progress reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safety culture on site.
• Implement site logistics and resource plans, including workforce and construction equipment needs.
• Coordinate with engineering to integrate design changes into the schedule and evaluate subcontractor performance against planning benchmarks.
• Prepare and analyse variance reports to identify schedule delays or inefficiencies.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in site planning and project controls.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from a reputable university; a master's degree is good to have.
• Local national.
• Ability to work on site in Iraq, including varying weather conditions and flexible hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Familiarity with FEED processes and brownfield project challenges.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
