Operations Manager – Security Operations (DOD Clearance)

About the role

The Operations Manager will support the Senior Manager and Deputy Manager in directing all security operations at Balad, Iraq. This role ensures tactical readiness, operational effectiveness, and compliance with security protocols while providing travel and housing support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior leadership in program management for Emergency Response Teams, Mobile Protective Security Operations, and Static Security.
• Develop, implement, and refine security policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Plan and execute drills, tabletop exercises, and full‑scale simulations to assess readiness.
• Maintain operational readiness of personnel and equipment through training, conditioning, and maintenance.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, mission planning, and deployment strategies, ensuring thorough briefings and debriefings.
• Coordinate with the Security Operations Center, fire department, medical teams, intelligence agencies, and base leadership.
• Produce after‑action reviews, incident reports, and continuous‑improvement documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, base rules of engagement, use‑of‑force protocols, and host‑nation regulations.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on security operations, providing guidance on training, doctrine, and resource allocation.
• Manage security equipment and assets, ensuring accountability and operational status.
• Mentor and evaluate security team leaders, fostering a safety‑first culture.

Required profile

• Experience supporting senior security managers in a high‑risk environment.
• Knowledge of security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple agencies and base leadership.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
