DS1 Security Manager

About the role

The DS1 Security Manager is responsible for securing Degassing Station One (DS1) and managing field access permissions for the Majnoon oil field in Iraq. The role includes leading a team of Iraqi staff, overseeing access control systems, and ensuring compliance with BOC and Ministry of Oil procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enforce security SOPs and the DS1 Facility Security Plan.
• Act as on‑scene commander for all security incidents at DS1 and report to the Field Security Manager.
• Provide security awareness training to all DS1 employees and implement loss‑prevention measures during quiet hours.
• Approve and manage field access control submissions, badges and database updates in line with BOC and MoO ISCO directives.
• Lead the Iraqi security administrative team, ensuring role‑specific training and professional development.
• Maintain relationships with key Iraqi stakeholders (MoO, BOC, OPF, IP) to support business requirements.

Required profile

• Previous military or law‑enforcement experience with at least five years of commercial security management.
• Minimum two years of experience operating in a hostile environment, preferably within the oil & gas sector.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently, make balanced decisions under pressure and communicate effectively with multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Intermediate user of Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with Lenel field access control system and IFMS OFP database administration.
