Operations Leader – Oil & Gas (Basra)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Leader to oversee daily oil & gas operational activities in Basra. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient and profitable service delivery while leading field and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily operational activities to ensure efficient and safe execution of services.
• Manage, mentor and develop operations and field teams, fostering high performance and accountability.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, procedures and local regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Plan, coordinate and optimise resources, manpower and equipment to meet operational and business objectives.
• Monitor operational KPIs, productivity and service quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure continuity and safety.
• Support budget control, cost optimisation and operational reporting.
• Participate in audits, inspections and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the oil & gas industry.
• Proven track record in operations leadership and team supervision.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas operational processes and service delivery.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and enforcing HSE systems and standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and operational reporting tools.
