Operations Engineer Assistant

About the role

talabatmart is expanding its dark‑store network across the region. We are looking for a motivated Operations Engineer Assistant to support technical expansion, store layout design, procurement documentation, and day‑to‑day facility maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for dark‑store expansion, translating requirements into detailed site project scopes.
• Develop initial store layouts and propose enhancements to optimise space utilisation.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and Scopes of Work (SOW) for new construction, expansions and remodels.
• Evaluate operational store needs and assemble technical procurement packages for hardware, fixtures and infrastructure upgrades.
• Identify, prioritise and log maintenance needs across electrical, civil, and piping systems.
• Establish and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC and piping contractors, supervising on‑site execution and ensuring compliance with SOW and quality standards.
• Oversee final asset hand‑over from contractors to store operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Highly motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills for managing documentation, schedules and contractor interactions.
