Horizontals Foreman – Heavy Equipment Operations

About the role

The Horizontal Foreman will be based at the Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) Amentum site in Iraq, supporting the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract for the U.S. Department of State. Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Manager, the role oversees daily material handling and heavy‑equipment work assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Provide oversight of all material‑handling and heavy‑equipment operations, scheduling daily work assignments for a multi‑national workforce.
• Review work orders and support requests to determine safety requirements, permitting, and equipment needs.
• Manage work‑order activity, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and data submission.
• Order and monitor supplies and materials needed for the department.
• Ensure personnel are trained and qualified to operate equipment safely.
• Monitor and evaluate personnel performance and conduct additional duties or projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years experience operating horizontal earthwork and material‑handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, semi‑tractor trucks).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid passport (minimum 18 months validity, 8 blank pages) and driver’s license from home of record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification.
• Satisfactory English proficiency and ability to pass required medical and dental examinations.

Required skills

• Operation of forklifts, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and semi‑tractor trucks.
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
• Report generation and data extraction.
• Coordination of Transportation Movement Requests (TMR).
