Open Rank Faculty Position in Psychology (Fall/Spring 2025‑26)

About the role

The American University of Iraq—Baghdad (AUIB) seeks an open‑rank faculty member in Psychology for the Fall/Spring 2025‑26 academic year. This expatriate‑only position will join the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, reporting directly to the Head of Department.

Key responsibilities

• Teach introductory and advanced psychology courses for undergraduate majors and non‑majors.
• Advise psychology majors on course scheduling, academic progress, and success strategies.
• Participate in departmental and college meetings, serve on committees, and support recruitment activities.
• Assist in departmental and program planning, including curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation.
• Conduct scholarly research, collaborate with faculty, and establish external research partnerships.

Required profile

• PhD in Psychology from a recognized university in North America.
• Minimum of three years of post‑doctoral teaching experience at a college or university.
• Familiarity with the American system of higher education.
• Eligibility to work as an expatriate faculty member in Iraq.
