NOC Engineer – FTTH, Wi-Fi and Enterprise Networks

About the role

FiberX is hiring a NOC Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot and keep its FTTH, Wi-Fi and enterprise networks running 24/7. You will join the Network Operations Center, which watches the whole network in real time, detects incidents before customers notice them and works with the Access, IP Core, Enterprise and Field teams to resolve them.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network health, alarms and performance 24/7 using Zabbix, PRTG, Grafana and Syslog
• Detect, triage and classify incidents by severity, open and update tickets according to the NOC triage and escalation SOP, and escalate to the right team
• Perform first- and second-level troubleshooting on routing, switching, BNG, OLT and transport issues
• Follow incidents until closure, meet MTTA and MTTR targets and keep customers and stakeholders informed during outages
• Troubleshoot routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP) and overlay services (MPLS, VXLAN)
• Work hands-on with Cisco, Nexus, MikroTik, Huawei and Nokia equipment, track FTTH health (OLT/ONT status, optical power) and support planned maintenance and change validation
• Monitor link utilization, flag capacity risks and write shift handovers, incident reports and RCA inputs
• Contribute to daily and weekly NOC reports and KPIs, tune Zabbix, and update runbooks, documentation and the device inventory

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer, Electrical or Network Engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a NOC, ISP or telecom network operations role
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and on-call duty
• Good written and spoken English and Arabic for tickets, reports and escalations

Required skills

• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, STP, LACP and QoS
• Hands-on experience with IS-IS and OSPF, and working knowledge of BGP
• Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) and MikroTik RouterOS
• Zabbix: hosts, templates, triggers, SNMP and dashboards
• CLI troubleshooting, log analysis and packet capture reading
• Preferred: CCNP (strongly preferred) or CCNA, MPLS L2/L3 VPN, VXLAN and EoIP, basic Python or Bash scripting
