Network Engineer

About the role

NASS, a fintech organization focused on financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth in Iraq, is hiring a full-time, on-site Network Engineer in Erbil Governorate. The engineer designs, implements and maintains secure and reliable network infrastructure supporting NASS's fintech platforms and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Configure network devices, monitor performance and diagnose and resolve connectivity issues
• Apply best practices for network security and collaborate with IT and security teams to optimise network design and ensure high availability
• Support new projects and services, document network architectures and maintain up-to-date configurations
• Proactively improve network resilience and scalability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on network administration experience
• Ability to work on-site in Erbil, collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
• Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP, and prior experience in fintech or financial services environments, are advantageous

Required skills

• Strong network engineering and network design skills
• Configuration and management of routers, switches and firewalls
• Troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues
• Knowledge of network security principles, including access control, encryption and vulnerability mitigation
• Experience with TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols and monitoring tools such as Wireshark or Nagios
