National Project Officer (Education)

About the role

The UNESCO Iraq Office is seeking a National Project Officer to support the Phase 3 TVET reform project “Green and Digital TVET for Enhancing Employability in Iraq”. The position is based in Baghdad and focuses on coordinating project activities that improve vocational education and training for youth, women, IDPs, returnees and refugees.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed work plans, task descriptions, budgets and output indicators for the project.
• Implement project activities according to the work plan and report progress against performance indicators.
• Coordinate implementation across the eight technical universities, eight vocational schools and two training centres, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Monitor implementation, identify constraints and propose corrective measures to improve delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with governmental directorates, local authorities and TVET institutions in the targeted regions.

Required profile

• Iraqi national.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Director of the UNESCO Iraq Office and the Project Officer/Chief of Education.
