National Consultant – National Expert for Curriculum Development

About the role

The International Trade Centre seeks a National Consultant to lead the design and delivery of a competency‑based training curriculum for the construction and housing sector in Iraq. Working remotely from Iraq with occasional travel, the consultant will translate stakeholder insights into practical learning modules and ensure the curriculum meets the needs of implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive Training Curriculum Package (modules, lesson plans, presentations, case studies, assessment tools) by 30 June 2024.
• Document stakeholder engagement processes, insights, and material validation, delivering a report by 30 September 2024.
• Create a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework with pre‑ and post‑assessment tools, feedback forms, and competency metrics by 30 June 2024.
• Produce a Partner Identification Report for potential implementing partners in Ninewa, including evaluation criteria and recommendations, by 30 May 2024.

Required profile

• Proven experience in curriculum development, preferably for technical or vocational training.
• Familiarity with the construction and housing sector in Iraq or similar contexts.
• Strong ability to conduct stakeholder consultations, focus groups, and incorporate feedback into training design.
• Experience designing monitoring and evaluation tools for training programmes.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and travel within Iraq as needed.
