Mid‑Senior Data Engineer – Build Scalable ETL Pipelines

About the role

Kanidata is looking for a Mid‑Senior Data Engineer to join client teams across the UAE and MENA region. You will be embedded on live projects, delivering production‑grade data solutions and collaborating with product, analytics and machine‑learning stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Model warehouse tables, write clear documentation and automate recurring jobs.
• Develop reliable, scalable enterprise‑grade data systems.
• Monitor reliability, performance and cost, and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with product, analytics and ML teams to deliver data‑driven outcomes.
• Own simple, observable designs that keep data trustworthy.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on data engineering or a closely related role.
• Proven experience delivering production pipelines and data models.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Experience with at least one major cloud data platform (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift).
• Familiarity with modern data‑stack tooling such as Airflow or Spark.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Based in Iraq, preferably Erbil.
