Microwave Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Microwave Engineer to lead the design and planning of microwave transmission networks for rollout, swap and upgrade projects. The role involves close interaction with customers, internal teams and suppliers to ensure reliable, interference‑free links and timely delivery of designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop low‑level designs (LLD) for microwave transmission networks supporting rollout, swap and upgrade initiatives.
• Perform frequency and capacity planning to avoid interference across the access network.
• Provide network topology options (hub, chain, terminal), tower loading calculations and repeater planning to customers and internal domains.
• Prepare high‑level designs, bills of quantities and support solutions and sales teams.
• Engage with customers to understand and resolve their pain points.
• Ensure design completion aligns with project implementation plans and revenue targets.
• Maintain the planning database and supply accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate between customers, project management, remote service centres and suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the telecom industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in microwave transmission planning.
• Strong communication, coordination and time‑management abilities.
• Process‑oriented and well‑organized work style.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in microwave access network planning and microwave technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with iRiver, Pathloss‑5, MapInfo and Google Earth.
