Mechanical Technician – Dairy Production

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will be the technical owner of designated dairy production machinery, ensuring reliable operation through proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting. This role supports both mechanical and basic electrical tasks within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all maintenance activities for assigned equipment, including planning, documentation, and spare‑part preparation.
• Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot process line issues, and support building and external equipment upkeep.
• Assist with basic electrical tasks such as sensor, motor, and transmitter checks.
• Support installation and qualification of new equipment.
• Maintain compliance with programs such as DAMWISE, ISO 9002, HACCP, AIB, DAMAWAY, Neptune, and FSI.
• Communicate shift activities through logbooks and shift meetings.

Required profile

• BSc or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant technical experience, including preventive maintenance planning.
• Strong teamwork and leadership qualities.
• Good command of English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Mechanical process line troubleshooting.
• Experience with APV equipment (homogenizers, plate heat exchangers, centrifugal pumps, valves).
• Knowledge of GIA and Spirax Sarco valves.
• Experience with Ultra Clean dairy filling machines and handling mechanisms.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic system expertise.
• Familiarity with PCM screw pumps, Ystral mixers, and smoothers.
• Basic process instrumentation knowledge.
• Basic electrical equipment knowledge (sensors, motors, transmitters).
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and handling manuals.
