Material & Logistics Engineer (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum is looking for an experienced Material & Logistics Engineer to support the Wells Department on a daily or rotational basis in Basra, Iraq. The role ensures that all wells‑related materials are procured, tracked, and delivered on time while maintaining full documentation and compliance with HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit material requisitions (MR) in coordination with Wells engineering teams.
• Track procurement status, purchase orders, manufacturing, shipment, and delivery of all wells‑related items.
• Monitor delivery schedules, coordinate customs clearance, and manage logistics with freight forwarders.
• Receive, inspect, and document materials together with QA/QC and warehouse teams.
• Resolve material discrepancies (overage, shortage, damage) and support corrective actions.
• Maintain material tracking registers, certificates, inspection reports, and handover documents.
• Provide weekly material readiness status reports to the Performance & Planning Section Head.
• Support audit activities, document control, and archiving of both soft and hard copies.
• Assist in organizing meetings, preparing minutes, and providing general administrative support to the Wells department.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Material or Logistics Engineer in the oil & gas sector.
• Familiarity with wells‑related material workflows and documentation requirements.
• Strong understanding of procurement, customs clearance, and inventory management processes.
• Ability to work onsite in Basra and coordinate with multiple internal teams.
