Head of Operations

About the role

dnata Iraq, operating from Erbil, is seeking a Head of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across all ground handling functions, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Ramp Operations, Customer Services, Technical Services and Support Services to ensure safe, efficient aircraft turnaround and high‑quality service delivery.
• Lead, mentor and manage duty managers and leadership teams to drive consistent operational performance and customer outcomes.
• Define and implement departmental strategies, policies, systems and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, airport authorities, airline partners and external stakeholders.
• Lead operational and improvement projects on time, within scope and budget, focusing on safety, efficiency and service enhancement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 8+ years’ experience in airport operations with a ground handling agent, including at least 6 years in a managerial role.
• Thorough knowledge of Operations and Technical Services, international systems, standards and procedures.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
• Advanced IT and computer literacy.
• Relevant professional or trade licences required for the role.
