Market Research & Competitive Intelligence Analyst

About the role

RTB Bank is seeking a Market Research & Competitive Intelligence Analyst to act as the bank’s eyes and ears on the Iraqi market. You will monitor competitor activities, analyse market trends and deliver intelligence that supports product and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing competitive audits of Iraqi banks, tracking product launches, pricing changes, promotional campaigns and digital innovations.
• Produce monthly and ad‑hoc market intelligence briefs for the Head of Research, Product Marketing Managers and department heads.
• Create and maintain competitor battle cards, product comparison matrices and pricing trackers for retail and corporate product lines.
• Monitor macro‑economic developments, regulatory changes and consumer‑behavior shifts in Iraq and the wider region.
• Partner with Product Marketing and Product Development to identify market gaps, white‑space opportunities and threats.
• Design and execute primary and secondary research projects, including focus groups and industry report synthesis.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence or strategic analysis, preferably within banking, consulting or financial services.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to gather, verify and synthesize information from multiple sources.
• Deep understanding of retail and corporate banking products and the competitive dynamics of the Iraqi financial sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing concise executive‑ready briefs.
• Fluency in Arabic and English; Kurdish is a strong plus.
• Proactive, curious mindset with a disciplined approach to accuracy and objectivity.
