Light Vehicles Driver

About the role

The Light Vehicles Driver transports people and goods safely and on time, supporting the International Committee of the Red Cross mission in challenging environments. The role requires strict compliance with ICRC security rules, national traffic laws, and constant awareness of the security situation on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Drive light vehicles to transport personnel and material while adhering to internal security and traffic regulations.
• Monitor and react to current security conditions, ensuring safe passage.
• Store goods inside the vehicle according to local, international and ICRC safety standards.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, maintain fuel levels, and keep the vehicle clean.
• Verify that trips are authorized where required.
• Report accidents, defects, or missing equipment immediately to management.
• Act as head of convoy when needed, overseeing other drivers and applying security rules.
• Perform risk‑mitigation controls as defined in the Logistics Risk and Control Matrix.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence for light vehicles.
• Experience driving in environments with security constraints.
• Ability to follow strict safety and security guidelines.
• Capacity to monitor road security conditions and react appropriately.
• Willingness to report incidents promptly and maintain vehicle condition.
