Information Technology Support Engineer

About the role

The Information Technology Support Engineer will support Geo-Jade Petroleum’s IT department in Basra, Iraq, handling both IT procurement activities and day‑to‑day technical support. The role combines market research, tender preparation, and hands‑on support for Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare IT procurement and tendering documents such as market research, cost estimates, invitations to bid, technical specifications, BOQ and evaluation reports.
• Conduct market research, assist in cost estimation and participate in technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor proposals, provide technical clarifications, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with end users, procurement, project teams and vendors to define technical needs.
• Maintain procurement records and support framework agreements and EPC‑related IT procurement.
• Provide first‑ and second‑line support for Windows OS and Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers and standard business applications.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, Wi‑Fi) and assist in IT infrastructure projects, migrations and upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT procurement and technical support.
• Proven experience preparing procurement documents and participating in technical bid evaluations.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate with multiple stakeholders and follow company procurement procedures.
