IND Sales Leader – Oil & Gas (Basra)

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is looking for an experienced IND Sales Leader to drive growth in the Basra oil and gas market. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, supporting tender processes, and expanding the company’s market presence in southern Iraq.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the Iraqi oil and gas sector.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities with major industry players and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and prospects.
• Establish long‑term relationships with clients, contractors, and operators, conducting regular engagement activities and account reviews.
• Prepare tender proposals, commercial bids and negotiate contracts and terms.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and regulatory developments, providing insights for strategic decisions.
• Lead, mentor and set performance targets for the sales and marketing team.
• Collaborate with operations, technical and finance departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, Electrical or related field).
• 7‑10 years of business development, sales or commercial experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas projects, services and contracting models.
• Proven experience with tendering processes and client negotiations.
• Familiarity with the Basra market and southern Iraq oil fields is highly preferred.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
