HVAC Specialist – VRF & BLDC Motors (Onsite)

About the role

The HVAC Specialist will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of HVAC/R systems across the Majnoon Process Area. The role involves preventive, shutdown, and corrective maintenance, as well as installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of advanced HVAC equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair Industrial Inverter Package Systems, Fresh Air Units, VRF/VRV multi‑zone cooling systems, and split air conditioners.
• Perform preventive, corrective and shutdown maintenance, diagnose complex faults using digital communication lines and electronic error codes.
• Service smart VRF/VRV systems with BLDC motors, compressor drive boards, and electronic expansion valves; calibrate condensate lift pumps.
• Download, upload and troubleshoot PLC programs for Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi and Allen‑Bradley platforms.
• Handle high‑pressure refrigerant circuits, perform brazing, nitrogen leak tests, vacuuming, flushing, refrigerant charging and pipe insulation.
• Replace compressors, evaporator and condenser coils, and relocate AC units with piping modifications.

Required profile

• University degree in a related discipline.
• 8‑10 years of HVAC experience in a large industrial plant, preferably oil & gas, petrochemical or fertilizer.
• Certified specialization in advanced VRF/VRV technology.
• Proficient in reading schematics, electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Intermediate English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Required skills

• VRF/VRV systems with BLDC motors.
• Industrial Inverter Package Systems (IPAC) and Fresh Air Units.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi, Allen‑Bradley).
• Diagnostic equipment for 2‑wire digital communication lines.
• Refrigerant handling, brazing, nitrogen leak testing, vacuum pumping.
• Electrical and mechanical controls, including compressor drive boards and electronic expansion valves.
