Instrument & Controls Lead Engineer

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions is seeking an Instrument & Controls Lead Engineer to support site operations, optimize production, and ensure safe and effective process control.

Key responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day optimization of I&C systems, including loop tuning, alarm management and SIS performance monitoring.
• Identify production vulnerabilities, prioritize corrective actions and lead continuous‑improvement projects.
• Support root‑cause investigations for safety incidents, production losses and quality issues.
• Provide front‑line support to Operations and Maintenance, escalating major issues to the Central Engineering Team.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably with an IOC.
• Technical engineering degree and prior asset/operations engineering experience.
• Strong communication, coaching and proactive problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working in culturally diverse environments.

Required skills

• Instrumentation, automation and control system expertise.
• Loop tuning, alarm management, safety instrumented system (SIS) monitoring.
• Root‑cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, fault tree analysis).
• CMMS and change‑management applications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
