Human Resources Manager – Iraq Office

About the role

PEG, a global engineering and contracting company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations for its Iraq office and project sites. You will be responsible for building a compliant, high‑performing workforce that supports the company’s oil & gas, power and renewable projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all HR functions for the Iraq office, including recruitment, onboarding, manpower planning and employee retention.
• Support performance management, training, and employee development initiatives.
• Handle employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievances and conflict resolution.
• Oversee leave administration, employee records and compliance with Iraqi labor laws.
• Administer employment contracts, terminations and related legal documentation.
• Coordinate government‑related HR matters and liaise with legal advisors and authorities.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on compliance risks.
• Prepare HR reports, workforce analytics and management updates.
• Support project mobilization/demobilization and workforce planning.
• Promote employee wellbeing, HSE compliance and a positive workplace culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Previous experience in engineering, construction, EPC or project‑based environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi Labor Law and employment regulations.
• Fluency in English; Arabic highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HR management systems.
