HSE ePTW Advisor

About the role

KBR is hiring an HSE ePTW Advisor in Basra, Iraq, on a full-time 28-day rotation contract. Reporting to the Senior HSE Advisor (ePTW) Lead, the Advisor keeps the electronic Permit to Work (ePTW) system running reliably at Majnoon Oilfield, focusing on the technical and IT side: system integration, data management, technical support and continuous improvement. The role covers areas where the system is already live and supports its rollout to new areas, including Phase 2.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and rollout of the ePTW system across Majnoon Oilfield and ensure a smooth transition for each area.
• Implement, manage and track the ePTW program, taking ownership of the technical aspects of Phase 2, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing and deployment.
• Lead the integration of the ePTW system with existing IT infrastructure, working with internal IT teams and the ePTW service provider.
• Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshoot issues and act as the main point of contact for IT-related ePTW issues.
• Manage ePTW data for integrity, security and compliance, and set up data backup and recovery with IT teams.
• Gather end-user feedback, deliver IT-related training, create user manuals and technical guides, and run regular system audits.
• Monitor vendor performance, ensure compliance with IT security standards and HSE regulations, and report on system performance and compliance to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant HSE qualifications.
• At least 4 years of experience in a similar role with a strong IT component.
• Proven experience developing, implementing and rolling out ePTW systems.
• Working knowledge of HSSE legislation and field practices, and understanding of hazardous energy control and boundary permits.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Able to work in a harsh field environment and within a diverse, multinational workforce.

Required skills

• Experience with enterprise production management systems and SAP, including SAP external interfaces.
• Proficiency in SQL Server and database management.
• Familiarity with browser/server architecture and server management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Change management and independent work.
