Geomatics Technician

About the role

Halliburton is hiring a Geomatics Technician for its Oils Operations unit in Basra, Iraq. The role sits within the Project Management product service line and involves using the ArcGIS platform to analyse spatial data, maintain customer databases and support the midstream business.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse data with the ArcGIS platform and maintain customer spatial databases.
• Update the MC database to be more midstream oriented and update it per customer request.
• Keep up with GIS developments, information sources and current issues, including NACE corrosion standards.
• Support other PSL teams, such as upstream business development, with well locations relative to warehouses and big-data analytics of revenue and tanks served.
• Provide field surveys for customers' GIS data used in pipeline operation modules and asset management.
• Create and develop proprietary software to help the midstream team analyse pipeline segments and assess risk.
• Build workflow automation to analyse long stretches of pipeline and run topographic queries to locate potential corrosion areas.
• Run proposals and account management meetings with customers and prospects generating over $1 million in revenue.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Geography, Geoscience, Geospatial Science, GIS or Computer Science.
• 5 years of experience.

Required skills

• ArcGIS platform experience.
• Trimble GPS, Delorme Xmap and Google Earth.
• Pipeline knowledge and SQL query experience.
• Programming experience.
