HSE Assistant – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The HSE Assistant supports daily health, safety and environmental activities at the SG Erbil dealership and workshop. The role focuses on monitoring site conditions, ensuring fire safety readiness, recording incidents and maintaining accurate HSE documentation to prevent accidents and meet company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Apply company HSE policies and procedures during daily operations.
• Communicate safety instructions for workshop activities, equipment and chemical handling.
• Support toolbox talks, report safety concerns and non‑compliance.
• Conduct routine inspections of PPE usage, housekeeping, tools and equipment.
• Monitor workshop tasks such as vehicle lifting, maintenance and tire replacement.
• Identify unsafe conditions, update tracking logs and assist in hazard control measures.
• Record incidents, near‑misses and safety observations and report them promptly.
• Assist with HSE inductions, safety awareness sessions and maintain training attendance records.
• Perform checks of fire extinguishers, alarms, emergency exits and safety equipment; support fire drills and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports and action‑tracking logs; communicate HSE requirements to technicians and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental Studies or a related field.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Fluency in English and Kurdish is mandatory; Arabic is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices and strong observation/reporting abilities.
• Ability to keep accurate records and follow safety procedures responsibly.
