Head of IT

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head of IT to lead the technology function of a large, diversified group of companies operating across multiple sectors in the Kurdistan Region. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive the group’s ICT strategy, ensure robust infrastructure and security, and champion digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the group‑wide ICT function for approximately 2,000 employees.
• Oversee ICT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, networks, and systems operations.
• Support and enhance the existing SAP environment and broader digital transformation projects.
• Develop ICT policies, governance frameworks, and operational best practices.
• Manage, mentor and grow the local ICT team, including succession planning and capability development.
• Ensure stable, secure, and scalable technology solutions aligned with business growth objectives.
• Partner closely with business leaders across multiple operating companies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading ICT functions within large, diversified groups or conglomerates.
• Strong technical background across infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and ERP platforms such as SAP.
• Experience in sectors such as Healthcare, Real Estate, Education, Construction, or Industrial/Steel manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive business‑focused technology transformation.
• Previous exposure to international and family‑owned business environments is highly desirable.
• Fluent English communication skills; Arabic or Indian nationality backgrounds are advantageous.
