ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit

About the role

The ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit will lead the Common Premises ICT team, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality ICT services that support UNDP operational needs. The role combines strategic planning, infrastructure management, team supervision and compliance with UNDP ICT policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ICT team and coordinate implementation of ICT activities and services.
• Integrate ICT assets and systems received from UNAMI, ensuring alignment with UNDP protocols.
• Oversee de‑commissioning, repurposing and disposal of ICT infrastructure in line with UN regulations.
• Develop local ICT budgets, procurement forecasts and asset‑management reports for internal and donor reporting.
• Manage local IT support operations, including help‑desk services, network availability and end‑user hardware/software support.
• Supervise national ICT staff and contractors, delegating responsibilities and monitoring performance.
• Liaise with service providers, vendors and partners for procurement, maintenance and service delivery.
• Collaborate with the UNDP ICT team on network and security management, including planning, implementation and monitoring.
• Ensure robust ICT security measures, business continuity planning and disaster‑recovery testing.
• Support IT project work, develop proposals, coordinate monitoring and provide training to junior staff.
• Prepare correspondence, periodic reports and maintain documentation of technical tasks and infrastructure diagrams.
• Calculate cost estimates, assist in budget preparation and monitor billing and payments.

Required skills

• ITIL (or equivalent) certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
