Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and full compliance with Iraqi tax regulations and IFRS standards. This senior position supports business decision‑making by delivering reliable analysis, improving finance processes, and driving operational efficiency across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily finance operations, including accounting transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and coordinate closing activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with business units.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities to meet business needs.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi tax regulations, IFRS, and internal finance policies.
• Lead internal and external audit processes and maintain audit readiness.
• Review and improve financial processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement and enhance ERP systems and reporting tools.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the finance team to achieve operational objectives.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management.
• Collaborate with banks, auditors, regulatory authorities, and other departments as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; Master’s, MBA or professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a plus.
• 7–10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in a large corporate or telecom environment.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) strongly preferred.
• Fluent in English; Arabic and Kurdish are also required.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Iraqi financial regulations.
• Expertise in ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP.
• Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Working capital and treasury operations.
• Audit coordination and internal control implementation.
• Financial analysis and insight generation.
