Firefighter Crew Chief

About the role

The Firefighter Crew Chief supervises a structural and/or aircraft firefighting crew at a designated installation in Iraq, ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Standard (PWS) and all applicable fire protection regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise crew members during fire ground operations, directing fire attack, confinement, salvage, overhaul, ventilation, and rescue activities.
• Perform emergency medical care and CPR as needed.
• Maintain and inspect fire protection equipment, including rescue tools, ladders, hoses, ropes, harnesses, and SCBA systems.
• Ensure timely submission of reports, deliverables, and CDRL items.
• Update and develop pre‑fire plans for aircraft and facilities.
• Preserve evidence at fire scenes and participate in investigations.
• Maintain station logs, training records, and equipment inspection documentation.
• Participate in and conduct scheduled training programs to increase technical proficiency.

Required profile

• Experience supervising a fire crew in structural or aircraft environments.
• Knowledge of AR 420‑1, NFPA guidelines, and Army fire protection standards.
• Ability to perform emergency medical care, CPR, and fire scene investigations.
• Proficiency in maintaining fire equipment and protective clothing.
