Fire Suppression Supervisor

About the role

The Fire Suppression Supervisor will be stationed at one of Amentum's sites in Iraq, supporting the Operations and Maintenance Support Services contract for the U.S. Department of State. This role leads a team in operating, maintaining, and repairing fire suppression and fire pump systems across building interiors and exteriors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety compliance.
• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair sprinkler, standpipe, wet/dry chemical, foam, kitchen, and fire extinguisher systems per manufacturer specs and NFPA standards.
• Maintain fire water mains, hydrants, post indicator valves, impellers, isolation gates, PRVs, strainers, gauges, and related accessories.
• Service fire alarm detection and notification systems according to NFPA guidelines.
• Conduct water flow testing of fire pumps, hydrants, and sprinkler networks.
• Identify, document, and correct deficiencies in water‑based suppression systems.
• Provide documentation to Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance divisions.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years installing or inspecting/testing/maintaining water‑based suppression systems.
• Three (3) years experience as a Fire Sprinkler or Fire Suppression Mechanic.
• At least two (2) years supervisory experience leading a team.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 25, 72, 291 and related codes (NFPA 10, 11, 14‑17, 70, 70E, 101).
• Ability to interpret IFC drawings, OSHA regulations, and US fire codes.
• Capability to obtain Notifier and Ansul R102 manufacturer certifications.
• Proficiency in fire pump testing, water flow testing, and fire alarm system maintenance.
