Finance Manager – Iraq

About the role

The Finance Manager will be a senior leader within Holdal Group’s Iraqi operations, responsible for safeguarding financial integrity across all local entities. Reporting to the Country Manager and CFO, this role ensures compliance, controls, and effective cash management while supporting the company’s growth strategy in Iraq.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure financial statements comply with IFRS and local regulations.
• Prepare and deliver timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash‑flow statements and ad‑hoc performance analyses.
• Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process, coordinating with heads of business units and senior management.
• Ensure full compliance with Iraqi tax laws, filing all required reports and managing tax payments.
• Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks, implementing robust internal controls.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, banking relationships and treasury activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor the local Finance and Accounting team.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, legal advisors and corporate finance functions.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with proven experience managing finance/accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Iraqi tax regulations and local financial reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to drive budgeting, forecasting and risk‑management processes.
• Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with senior leadership and external partners.
