Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will work on‑site in Erbil, supporting ABAR DLOOK’s finance function. This full‑time position involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining accurate ledgers, and ensuring compliance with Iraqi accounting standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file financial statements and reports for management.
• Maintain accurate general ledgers and oversee daily bookkeeping activities.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank and account balances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and month‑end / year‑end closing processes.
• Utilise accounting software to streamline operations and generate financial insights.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support audits and provide financial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Odoo, and other accounting software.
• Strong finance and analytical skills for data interpretation and decision support.
• Knowledge of Iraqi tax, regulatory requirements and internal control practices.
• Proven experience in preparing financial statements and reports in a corporate environment.
• Attention to detail, strong organisational abilities and ability to work on‑site within cross‑functional teams.
