Internal Auditor

About the role

Regional Trade Bank is looking for a qualified Internal Auditor to join its Internal Audit Department at the headquarters in Erbil. The role involves evaluating the bank’s internal controls, risk management and governance processes to ensure compliance and improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit assignments according to the approved audit plan, methodologies and procedures.
• Assess the adequacy of internal controls, risk management and governance within the scope of each engagement.
• Collect, analyse and evaluate audit evidence, applying professional scepticism.
• Prepare clear working papers and comprehensive audit reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Identify and report instances of non‑compliance, control weaknesses, fraud or significant risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• 2–3 years of internal audit experience in the banking sector.
• CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certification is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Central Bank of Iraq regulations and banking audit standards.
• Fluent Arabic, very good English; Kurdish is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with audit and data‑analysis tools.
